Warming Hearts with Communities In Schools of Richmond
At Threads Uniform Agency, giving back isn’t just a value—it’s a way of life. For over a decade, our partnership with Communities In Schools of Richmond (CIS) has been a cornerstone of our commitment to the Richmond community. Together, we’ve distributed over 1,200 winter coats and accessories annually to students in need across Richmond and Chesterfield public school systems, ensuring they stay warm, comfortable, and ready to succeed.
This past year, our collaboration was even more exciting as we partnered with students from Huguenot High School’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program to design the 2024 coat. Meeting monthly, these talented young designers worked through every stage of the apparel development process—from initial concepts to final design. The result: a coat that reflects thoughtful, functional details like:
- Extra room in the hood to accommodate various hairstyles.
- Thumb holes for added comfort.
- Reflective strips for safety during low-light hours.
Not only did the students contribute to the coat’s design, but they also created a unique logo symbolizing their teamwork, creativity, and dedication. This logo will be featured on every coat, representing the collective effort behind this impactful initiative.
Working with these students was an amazing, enriching experience for all of us at Threads. It’s projects like these that remind us of the power of collaboration and the bright potential of our youth. We can’t wait to do it again!
